    PMDG Updates

    PMDG has updated its operation center as well as the 737 ngx
    sadly it means once again you have to fully uninstall the ngx and install it all over again
    they are gatting as bad as aerosoft!!
    improvements are as follows:

    HYDRAULICS:
    ===========
    1) Violating operating limitations on the EMDPs will cause the case drain fluid to overheat.
    2) Realistic times for pumps to come online and drop offline.
    3) Loss of DC power will cause engine pumps to resume providing pressure to their associated system. (solenoid fails to OPEN)
    4) Overheat sensors in the EMDP's will trip pumps offline to protect them from overheat. These are different sensors (and temperature ranges) than those that control the OVERHEAT lights.
    5) EMDP cooling time will depend upon whether the pump is running, or whether the pump is OFF. (should take 5 mins to cool to normal temps when running, but approx 30 when off... depending upon fluid temperature and whell well temperature depending upon condition.)





    LANDING GEAR:
    =============
    1) Brake Temperature Soak.
    2) Wheel well fire triggered by sucking hot brakes up into the gear bay.





    FLIGHT CONTROLS:
    ================
    1) Spoiler DO NOT ARM light illuminates at <60 knots wheel speed. Normal for the NG.
    2) Electric Trim operates at realistic speeds (two different speed modes depending upon flap position)




    LIGHTING SYSTEMS:
    =================
    1) The diagram used to determine the power source for every bulb on the flight deck takes up 212 standard sized print pages.
    2) To get the proper strobe timing, it was necessary to pull a part number and contact the part manufacturer. The NGX strobes are correctly timed.


    AIR SYSTEMS:
    ============
    1) The bleed pressure produced by each engine is based upon Boeing's own RPM vs. Pressure graph.
    2) High RPM without any bleed consumers will cause the a bleed overpressure condition and BlEED TRIP OFF
    3) Unattended bleed duct leaks have the potential to create leaks in either the EDP supply or pressure lines OR the case fluid drain lines- resulting in fluid loss or outright pump siezure.
    4) Duct pressure indication shows the effects of variable stage bleed source changing from low to high pressure stages in the engine during spooldown.


    AIR CONDITIONING:
    =================
    1) Cabin temperature will stabilize at a normal rate depending upon air volume and outside temperature, and whether the airplane is subjected to sunlight heating.
    2) Air Conditioning/Heating selectable by a ground cart pushing conditioned air to the mix manifold, just like the airplane.
    3) Forward cabin zone temperature changes if forward doors are open and ambient OAT is significantly different than cabin temp.


    DOORS:
    ======
    1) Transient warning for the overwing exits is possible due to slow latching mechanism on the hatch locks.


    PRESSURIZATION:
    ===============
    1) Pressurization model based upon airflow in/out of the cabin using a dynamic airflow model of static cabin pressure leaks and the outflow valve behavior.
    2) Pressurization model that accurately simulates behavior of the airplane, including pre-takeoff pressurization and post landing depressurization.
    3) Pressurization model that accurately simulates cabin altitude level-offs when aircraft is climbing/descending.


    ELECTRICAL:
    ===========
    1) You can choose between a single battery or dual battery airplane.
    2) You can fail any bus on the airplane, and suffer the appropriate penalties.
    3) The Generator Control Breakers require various sources of DC power to operate. Thus, if you fail certain DC Busses, you may not be able to reconnect a specific generator to the system.
    4) You can run a realistic BITE test on the electrical system.


    ENGINE FIRE CONTROLS:
    =====================
    1) Bottles and Squibs are tracked. If you fire the bottle for one side, it won't work for the other side.
    2) Engine overheats may not result in the need to shut down an engine... but you will have to follow the procedure to find out.
    3)

    FAILURES:
    =========
    1) Failures such as an ENG OVHT are dynamic, and will be triggered slightly differently each time, requiring that you follow the QRH to resolve them effectively.
