    Scenery developpement

Post by Aurelien on Sat Apr 22, 2017 1:36 am

    Hi,
I'm new in this forum and i would like to share with you my own scenery project of the city where i live .
The scenery is near Paris in france at the south of the airport of Logne Emerainville [LFPL] [coordonate 48.8N 2.64E] and it's photorealistic ground with 3D building build by me (no autogen building).

I know the scenery developpement is not without problem and today i have one Crying or Very sad  ... i try to  create flatten with SBuilderX to put the railway at -1 meter of the rest of the scenery but i really don't know why but it doesn't work like i want Crying or Very sad  (maybe it work like it was suposed to work but i'm not agree with that lol!  )

Here you have the screenshot of the scenery in the flight sim ! Very Happy
    Screenshot n°1

    Screenshot n°2

    Screenshot n°3

How it looks in the ground ! Smile

    The big hole !

The scenery at FL020 (i climb here in slew mode lol! )

Enjoy and i hope you will found the solution Very Happy

Hi and welcome to Simhaven !! your first attempts are very good indeed I think the problem with the hole is the standard terrain mesh there are several free terrain meshes available which hopefully will cure this problem, i will try to find the link to them,
Unless of course someone has a better idea of why he has a hole in the ground?

Welcome to the forum. You are not alone with the elevation problems. I have made many airfields and either the runways are in a hole or floating. I use ADE free software and if you follow my tutorial it will resolve your problem.

You only need a "licence" to use the satellite images to sell on. As you are ONLY using it within your flight sim as a hobby its perfectly OK. Hope this helps.

So long as you only use the satellite images for your own use and do not sell the images to make money you are OK.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Did you remember to do the "flatten" part of the tutorial? This makes all the area within the polygon flat so I dont understand why you still see the hole?

PS You should see 2 files 1 x bgl and 1 x CVX.bgl, both need to be added to your scenery folder in FSX.

With my FSET and Google Earth images I just made a small scenery around LFPL and its flat with FSX default terrain.

Yes it's flat here but where i try to make the modification the tarrain is not flat in real ...
As you can see here the bridge is not at the same height than the road ...
