    P3D LOD radius

Post by britfrog on Thu Oct 20, 2016 3:38 pm

Well as reported correctly By Hyrons, it would appear that P3D is locked at 6 or 6.5 which explains why the photoscenery in it is not as sharp as FSX, I had tried to con myself into believing that changing it to a higher figure had made my setup better, but I was wrong.
Cant really see any benefit now in going to P3D , oh you get cloud shadows and moving trees and a few new naff planes or have i missed something else?

Yep, you missed the Yellow Submarine and other bathymetric (Check it out!! - Ed) functions.

And, of course, there's the P3D Academic licence issue...

But thanks for the LoD reference, Nigel, I hadn't heard of that before Hyrons reported it.

    Cheers - Dai. Cool

P.S. Mission development is also a lot more tricky, I'm told...

Well, I did tell you 8 -9 or more month ago that Lod radius is locked at 6.5 in P3D. But you didnt accept it from me ;-) . Its ok. I can be like that as well.

P3D gives better feeling of transparent stuff. Especially the clouds and the cloud reflexions in water. The rest is more or less the same.
I moved to Denmark 5 month ago and I havent been simming during that time, but I found a couple of boxes with sim stuff the other day....... so maybe soon. That DC-3 update is very thrilling

I used FSX SE for photoscenery in Europe and P3D for ORBX Alaska scenery
