    Posting Images and Videos

Post by ddavid on Sun Jul 03, 2016 11:39 pm

As you know, posting Images is reasonably straightforward - i.e. from PhotoBucket - just click the Image icon from the top bar of the edit panel - the little screen icon to the left of the YouTube icon - and insert the image url into the pop-up panel. The HTML will look like this::

    Code:
    [img]http://illiweb.com/fa/pbucket.gif[/img]

Now, posting YouTube and DailyMotion videos is just as easy. Click on the appropriate icon (YouTube or DailyMotion) and insert the video's url into the pop-up panel. Your post will include this HTML code to display the YouTube video:

    Code:
    [youtube]_tUNo2dsLak[/youtube]

Posting Vimeo videos is a bit more complicated. When viewing the Vimeo video page, you'll see a Share icon (looks like a paper plane?). Click that and the pop-up has the Iframe HTML code to embed the video. Simply (!!) copy the embed code and paste into your post for the Vimeo video to appear. It will look something like this in your post:

    Code:
    <iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/170919473" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>
<p><a href="https://vimeo.com/170919473">How to make Water Masks in FS Earth Tiles photo scenery.</a> from <a href="https://vimeo.com/user3235196">Dai</a> on <a href="https://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>

Only one last snag! For you to see the Vimeo video - or anyone else's (like mine, for example) you must go to your forum Profile and ensure that you have HTML Allowed. If this is set to 'No', then you won't see the Vimeo video (Don't ask! - Ed)

So, let's see your videos embedded!!

    Cheers - Dai.

Nigel, did you put the YouTube url in the YouTube icon pop-up? It should then give you this HTML in your post:

    Code:
    [youtube]4QVo_kWWC6o[/youtube]

Also, remember to set HTML in your Profile.

Glad you got it, Mike! (Can't please everybody! - Ed)

    Cheers - Dai. Cool
