    COASTLINE WATER BLEND IN FSX

Post by G-GMDH on Sat Jan 30, 2016 12:18 pm

For those not of a nervous disposition here are my recent findings on how to do just the coastline water blend assuming you have already made the land using FSET.

Using GE to draw out your Coast, DeepWater, EXCLUDE lines and box it within a polygon called area.

Save the file as AreaKML in the work folder of FSET.

Open FSET PRESS the K button on the FSET control panel and this imports the KML file from GE.

Set FSET as per the picture and download. FSET will make the scenery automatically so you have no editing to do.

Here it is in TMF viewer.

You can then add this into your FSX library in the normal way.

PS As the coastline is not too important for some, you can set FSET resolution to 4, which will make a much faster and smaller download.

ah, good one, this with the exclude.
But does it solve the issues with the agressive white squares some places in Bing. (did you use Bing or Google Tiles?)
Also, how good is your blend with fsx water?

    Hi DB,

I use Bing for the satellite images. There are no white square problems as you have masked over these with the GE drawings and polygon. The water blend in FSX is very good.

    Cheers, M
